How to loop playback

To playback a part of the sequence repeatedly, you must create a Loop in the Timeline.

To toggle the Loop

  • Or press L on your keyboard.

To create a Loop

  • Draw a new Loop with the Pen Tool in the Timeline:

    1. Place your mouse pointer over the upper part of the Timeline area; the pointer automatically turns into a pen regardless of the currently selected tool, except if the targetted area is already part of the Loop (see Forcing the Pen tool below).

    2. Click and drag leftward or rightward to draw a Loop.

  • Or select one or more Patterns and use / ctrl + L to loop the selection.

If you select many Patterns, the loop will cover the whole range between the beginning of the Pattern at the farthest left and the end of that at the farthest right;

Additional information

When the Loop is on, you can click on the Stop button in the Transport Bar (or press  / enter) to make the Playhead switch position from beginning of the Loop to beginning of the Project.

When the Loop is off, this will make the Playhead switch position from beginning of the Project to the Caret's position.

The Loop must have a minimum duration value of 1/4th note.

Currently, it is not possible to loop and record at the same time (i.e. the Loop is ignored during a recording).
